I am a qualified person-centred counsellor and have also studied CBT and psychodynamic therapy.
I combine elements of each approach to suit your requirements.
As we work together and get to know each other better, we can tailor the sessions to suit what would be most effective for you.

You lead the sessions and can change the subject as and when you like. This approach focuses on your present feelings and current situation with an aim to become more self-aware to enable you make positive changes. This approach is flexible and can be short or long term. Person-centred counselling is great if you have multiple areas to explore.
CBT offers a structured approach to explore how your thoughts, feelings and behaviour connect to one another. The aim is to understand and challenge your negative thought patterns, resulting in positive actions and improved wellbeing. This approach tends to be goal-orientated and usually focuses on one area and is short-term.
Psychodynamic therapy is usually a long-term option. It is used to explore your past in-depth and understand how this shapes who you are today. This approach can be helpful if you wish to discuss your childhood. Having a greater understanding of past events and relationships can help identify the root cause for issues you face today, enabling you to take the next steps in improved wellbeing.
Reaching out and starting therapy can be a daunting experience. I pride myself on offering a friendly and approachable service to make the process as comfortable as possible. I believe applying empathetic and non-judgemental sessions allows for open and honest discussions so real positive changes can be made.

Two hours free parking is available in Wakefield.
Wheelchair access is available in Wakefield.
Sanctuary Health and Wellbeing is a 15 minute walk from both Wakefield Kirkgate and Wakefield Westgate train stations.
The Practice Rooms is a 5 minute walk from Leeds city centre train station.
Toilets are available at both locations.
I offer morning, afternoon and evening sessions Monday to Friday.

Online counselling is held via Google Meet. You do not need a Google account to access this. I will send full details of how to use Google Meet prior to our first session if you are unfamiliar with this.

Consultations are free of charge.
I will go over the contract with you and answer any questions you may have free of charge prior to our first session.
You will not be charged for cancellations made with over 48 hours’ notice.
